Honest answers

Honest answers about the AI receptionist

Straight answers to the questions business owners actually ask us. If yours isn't here, call (626) 365-4946 — an AI answers, and you can ask her yourself.

Is it really an AI? Do my callers know?

It's AI, and we don't hide it. If a caller asks whether they're talking to a person, she answers honestly that she's an AI assistant for your business — no tricks, no "let me get my supervisor" theater. We don't open every call with a robot announcement either; she simply answers well and tells the truth when asked. In our experience, callers care far more about being helped in ten seconds than about who's doing the helping. Where local law requires more explicit disclosure, we build that in.

Does it record my calls?

No audio recording — we work from transcripts only. You get a written record of what was said on your line, which is what's actually useful for reviewing calls and tuning the system, without storing anyone's voice. And to be fully plain: no voiceprints, ever. We don't build biometric profiles of your callers, full stop. If your state's rules or your own counsel have specific requirements around calls, we set the system up to match them.

What won't it do?

A few things, deliberately. It won't take card numbers over the phone — payment details read aloud to an automated line are a liability we won't create for you; it captures who wants to pay and for what, and routes that to a human. It won't give medical or legal advice. And it won't quote prices you haven't approved. Each of those is a boundary we engineered in on purpose, because a confident wrong answer on your line is worse than a polite handoff.

What happens when it can't answer a question?

It says so, gracefully. The system only states facts you've approved — when a caller asks something outside that, it tells them the team will confirm, takes their details, and flags you, rather than guessing. If the question is one it should be able to answer, tell us the right answer and it will know it the same day.

Can it speak Spanish or other languages?

Honest answer: it depends on the build. Multilingual answering is something we can engineer, but we don't flip it on as a checkbox — a half-good Spanish experience is worse for your callers than a clean handoff to a bilingual human. The real question is your call mix, and that's a conversation worth having before anyone promises anything.

What happens after hours?

It keeps answering — nights, weekends, holidays. After-hours callers get the same greeting, can book into your real calendar, and can leave a detailed message that's waiting for you as a transcript in the morning, not a voicemail to wade through. Genuine emergencies follow the escalation contacts you give us; everything else respects your evening.

What if two people call at once?

Both get answered — this is one of the quietly best parts. No queue, no hold music, no busy signal. Two callers at once means two full conversations at once; ten means ten. Every caller gets answered on the first ring, whatever else is happening on the line.

Can it transfer callers to me or my team?

Yes — live transfer to your cell or any number you choose is built in. You decide the rules: which situations get transferred, who's the backup if you don't pick up, and what happens when nobody's reachable (take a message and flag you, by default).

Can it text my customers?

Yes — with guardrails we don't bend. Texts only go to people who've consented, every message honors STOP instantly and permanently, and we respect quiet hours. One honest timing note: carriers require your business to be registered before texting goes live, and that approval typically takes a few weeks from filing — we'll tell you the week it clears.

Can I pause it?

Yes, same day. When paused, your number forwards straight to your existing answer point — your cell or front desk — so the line never goes dead; callers just reach you the old way. Turn it back on whenever you're ready.

How fast do changes happen?

Same day, for almost everything — wording, greeting, hours, transfer rules, new answers to caller questions. The one exception: anything touching legal or regulated territory gets reviewed with you before it ships. That's a feature, not slowness — those are the lines you don't want changed casually.

How much does it cost?

Fair question — and the honest answer is that it depends on what we'd actually be building for your business, so a number on this page would either be wrong or padded. We don't do either. The frame we'd use on a call: compare it to what a good hire covering your phones would cost — salary for someone who works 40 of the week's 168 hours — then look at what answering all 168 is worth to you. Whether that math works for your business is exactly what a short call settles, including the possibility that the honest answer is "you don't need us yet." Book a call or dial (626) 365-4946.

An honest note about the AI. Yes, it's an AI answering — and if a caller asks, she says so, plainly, and keeps helping. She never records audio (transcripts only, no voiceprints, ever), never gives medical or legal advice, and never quotes prices you haven't approved — pricing questions come to a human. We'd rather you hear it than read it: call the number below and ask her anything.

Still have a question? Book a discovery call — or call (626) 365-4946 and ask the receptionist herself. Yes, an AI answers. That's the point.
